Should /r/cats remove itself from /r/all? Community input requested!

Hi there, cat lovers!Your friendly neighborhood mod team has been discussing a possible change to how /r/cats works, and we'd like your input.BackgroundSometimes a person will post a photo that for whatever reason may catch the attention of many readers and be upvoted heavily. This is great, it's what reddit's for. But unfortunately, sometimes that photo may also attract other kinds of attention- maybe there's a person in it and they start having comments made about their appearance, or possibly some object in the background, and so on.When these posts climb high enough on /r/all that it gets the attention of non-/r/cats subscribers, this problem becomes even worse. And in recent days we've seen posts that were perfectly on-topic and totally within the rules of /r/cats being brigaded by other subreddits after climbing high enough on /r/all to catch the attention of some of reddit's less enjoyable personalities for completely spurious reasons.This has created problems for the modteam in having to remove many, many posts when so many non-subscribers who are either unfamiliar with, do not care about, or are actively opposed to our subreddit's rules comment on threads that have reached /r/all and gained their attention.Also, your mod team are people and don't enjoy being called rather terrible things for the simple act of enforcing our rules on those who believe their desire to be nasty to someone trumps our desire to keep the subreddit about cats and not about drama.The ProposalThe mod team has been discussing whether we should enable the reddit feature to eliminate /r/cats from appearing in /r/all or in the trending subreddits list. Our consensus at this time is that we shouldn't take such a step without opening it up to comment from the community first.In the end, if we do enable this feature, we believe it will eliminate a major source of troublesome posts, rude and abusive comments, and in general help keep things more civil.
